Trichology Masterclass with Dr Katherine Lancianese — Skymedic Academy, 10 September 2026

Trichology Masterclass with Dr Katherine Lancianese — Skymedic Academy, 10 September 2026

Exosomes, mesotherapy, 5-alpha reductase inhibitors and home-care: a full day of hair-loss training for aesthetic practitioners.

Hair loss is one of the fastest-growing areas of demand in UK aesthetic practice — and one of the most under-served. Patients arrive having already tried supplements, shampoos and social-media advice, and they expect their practitioner to give them a clear, clinically reasoned answer. Delivering that answer takes more than a single product: it takes a proper understanding of the hair cycle, the ability to assess and classify hair loss accurately, and a protocol that combines in-clinic treatment with sustainable home care.

That is exactly what this masterclass is designed to give you.

On Thursday 10 September 2026, Skymedic Academy welcomes Dr Katherine Lancianese to London for a full-day trichology masterclass — combining clinical theory, a live demonstration and an extended hands-on session.

Who it's for

This training is aimed at doctors, dentists, nurses, prescribers and experienced aesthetic practitioners who want to introduce trichology into their treatment menu, or who already offer hair treatments and want to build a more structured, evidence-led protocol around them.

No prior trichology qualification is required, but attendees should be comfortable with injectable techniques.

What you'll cover

The programme moves from assessment through to a complete treatment pathway:

Understanding the hair cycle and the causes of hair loss. Anagen, catagen, telogen — and what actually goes wrong. Distinguishing androgenetic alopecia from telogen effluvium, and recognising the cases that need onward referral rather than treatment.

Consultation and patient assessment. How to take a proper trichological history, what to document, how to photograph and track progress, and how to set realistic expectations from the very first appointment.

Exosomes in hair restoration. The science behind exosome technology, how it differs from other regenerative approaches, and where it fits within a treatment plan.

Mesotherapy for the scalp. Injection depth, needle selection, mapping, session intervals and the practical technique points that separate a comfortable, effective treatment from a disappointing one.

5-alpha reductase inhibitors. A clinical overview of their mechanism of action, the patient groups where they are relevant, and the prescribing and safety considerations practitioners need to understand. (Prescription-only medicines are discussed in a professional clinical education context. Any prescribing remains the responsibility of the qualified prescriber.)

Home-care products and patient compliance. Why the at-home protocol determines the outcome as much as the in-clinic work — and how to build a home-care recommendation that patients actually stick to.

Combination protocols. Bringing it all together into male and female pathways, and structuring treatment courses that make commercial sense for your clinic.
